Named for SIBF Class of 1987 member, Allan J. McDonald, the SIBF entrepreneur award recognizes a member who demonstrates outstanding entrepreneurial effort. Based in Norcross, Georgia, Buckley is a serial entrepreneur, a 25 year veteran in the technology industry, and a developer of unique solutions for clients worldwide in a broad range of industries.
After a decade at IBM, Buckley started a software and consulting company in 1992. During the next twenty years, he founded five more companies including an eProcurement company, a venture technology and sales agency, a technology investment company, and one of the first eCommerce consulting companies in the Southeast, which was later acquired by a global technology firm.
In 2001, two years after joining SIBF, Buckley co-founded what is now a leading provider of eDelivery software solutions and services. The company, DataOceans LLC, offers technology that unlocks data from multiple systems to create highly personalized paper, electronic, mobile and text corporate communications for banking, healthcare, utility and communication industries.
